Stage Description
The stage design features large expanses of metallic textures, symbolizing Japan’s rapid Westernization and cultural invasion in the post-war era. To achieve this effect, aluminum foil was extensively used as the primary surface material, creating a sense of overwhelming coverage.
In the distance, a shadowy, fragmented cow carcass cradles a breathing, expanding sphere—a form that evokes both a setting sun and a fetus in the womb, blurring the line between life and decay.
The television on the ground, along with their displayed content, further emphasize Japan’s Westernization and the shifting landscape of media and communication.
