Stage Description
The main stage consists of two two-level platform wagons, designed in a Japanese magic realism style. Both wagons are entirely wooden, with tatami-covered surfaces.
One of the wagons represents the second floor of the main character’s home and features six trap doors, including a Japanese sliding door cabinet that connects to the first level of the wagon. This design allows the main character’s mother, who lives in the basement, to interact with the main character by popping her head through the openings.
The overall aesthetic draws inspiration from melancholic Japanese manga, utilizing a mix of wood, pipes, and dyed fabric as key construction materials.
Additionally, two space-like tunnels serve as both the entry points for surreal characters and the audience's entrance and exit pathways. As audience bend down to enter, they physically experience the transition into the blurred boundary between reality and illusion.
